I know it's frowned upon to take candy from a baby, but what about hiking boots? Check out Presto! (in the green stripes) fancy hiking boots. He's already trying to get mine. Q Bee (in the red) is opting for more fancy footwear...maybe later.

What do you think? I never liked having Build-a-Bear imprinted across my boots. I am not a bear, indeed!

Travel'n Turtle's littlest boxer, Q Bee is just 2 months old and still smaller than a letterboxing buddy turtle! We're going to have to see if those turtle clothes fit him next.

Q Bee's name was chosen by his big sister, Laney Bug, who thought there needed to be another insect in the family. He has helped locate over 20 letterboxes, 10 for each month of his life; wish we could all boast that record!

Trexx goes boxing with The Early Birds, DDDCMJ Express, and Travel'n Turtle

What started as a warm 50° rainy November day turned ugly. One of the Early birds (in pink), the "M" of DDDCMJ Express (holding Trexx), and Travel'n Turtle headed to the Fremont area for a day of carefree boxing! (If you want to see this milk can sign come box in Boneyard Recorder's backyard).

Trexx was smart enough to stay in the car for most of the soggy day, wet turtles can really get stinky. We headed out early and found over 30 boxes. We started out with some rainy hiking and realized that we'd prefer drive-bys when the temperature dropped to 30° and the snow started. We were soaked through and no longer wanted to brave the elements.

It was so much fun; we thank Boneyard Recorder for all her plants in the area. We boxed all day and still need to return again to get the rest. It was neat to see all the different boxer's stamps in this area, thanks to all planters worldwide!

Trexx visits Canada

Trexx had always wanted to visit Niagara Falls. After some convincing he decided to take the Maid of the Mist boat trip into the Horseshoe Falls rather than try the barrell (like a shell) over the falls. After a soggy day in Niagara Falls Trexx's headed to Toronto to do some letterboxing and siteseeing.

He was joined with fellow boxers, Travel'n Turtle, Laney Bug (from Ohio) and Ukusa and Sloppy Chops (from England). As well as some English Noxers, Redmond (Sloppy's son), and Tracy.

That's Tracy and Red with Trexx at High Park right near the Grenadier Pond letterbox. Lovely park with lots of beautiful stamps thanks to Fiddleheads, a local boxer.

On the way home to Ohio Trexx, Laney Bug and Travel'n Turtle stopped by a tiny church located near Niagara Falls to locate another wonderful stamp and see the cutest church!

Trexx flies back to the U.S. and heads to the beach

From Overcast, cool England with it's mysterious moors and lovely country side views to Oak Island, North Carolina. Which is hot, sunny and picturesque in a completely different way.

Totally different type of letterboxing, but still a lot of fun. This is Trexx, Blue Bunny and Farley's last adventure together; when the weekend is over the two visiting buddies head home. Trexx is careful to slather sunscreen on Farley and Blue Bunny and takes them to some exciting spots.

Oak Island has lots of peaceful, under used parks that are great for letterboxing. There is also an extremely fun series by MnMs4 that takes you on a trail that actually goes onto a beach. You'll see the picture here with the water on it. That was the trail when we returned; high tide had obviously come in! We had to wade across; such letterboxing adventures!

Boxing in Mousehole and Penzance

The Cornwall coast has lots of darling, picturesque fishing villages to visit. Two that we visited were Mousehole (home of two letterboxes) and Penzance of Pirate fame (home of one letterbox). The buddies were very excited to visit pirate territory!

We all enjoyed the letterboxing, looking through shops, the famous Cornish Vanilla ice cream and Cream Teas. Delicious and fun! The weather was very similar to San Francisco, with a chill in the air coming off the water.

Laney Bug was very excited to send a postcard by "Letterbox". Okay, she hadn't a clue, but mom, Travel'n Turtle was excited!

Tintagel Castle ~ King Arthur's birthplace

On the beautiful cost of Cornwall we visited Tintagel. The town and castle ruins are a wonderful spot to visit. Besides it's too great letterboxes! Pictured above, twins, Travel'n Turtle and Ukusa.

Letterboxing on the Cornish Moors

Surrounded by cow pastures and brooding gray clouds the letterboxing on the moors was exotic fun. We had to find an Ordinance Survey map of the area (thank goodness Ukusa found one hanging in the laundry room at the place we were staying.) to locate this letterbox.

Fortunately we were on holiday and had plenty of time to hunt; we were not going home empty handed. Once we found the start to the clues Bob was our Uncle! :o) The boxing buddies had it easy by being carried. We had to pick up Laney Bug (the human child) at times due to heavy plant growth, but Badger (the black & white child) plowed through it all. He even got himself stuck in a stile at one point!

We had to do some heavy-duty wading to get to the final box resting spot, but it was well worth it. This was the most attractive spot we've stamped in to date!

Letterboxing Buddies on Holiday in Cornwall

Boxing Buddies: Blue Bunny, Trexx and Farley.

For those of you who don't know England well (me, before I left for this trip), Cornwall is at the bottom of the country. It is very desolute in some areas, but very pretty. Letterboxing in this area is completely different from any other place.

Letterboxing took us to some beautiful places we would never have seen otherwise. The buddies had an awesome time seeing the sights as we stamped in. They weren't so good at locating boxes.

Trexx travels around England

Laney Bug (in red) brings Boxing Buddy: Blue Bunny (from Hong Kong) to visit England. She meets up with Boxing Buddy: Farley (from West Virginia) who is being held by Candyland (in green).

Candyland takes the three, plus Trexx and Travel'n Turtle out boxing locally in Essex, England.

Letterboxing in England is very familiar, but also quite different. We didn't have to worry about Poison Ivy, but the berry brambles were everywhere!

Also we came across a few stiles (a wooden "staircase" used for humans to move from pasture to pasture without allowing the animals out). See Laney Bug climbing over one!

We visited Crowsheath Community Woodland and Crowsheath Wood Nature Preserve. The area around Ukusa's home, where we were staying was surrounded by parks and open land; very lovely and great for letterboxing!

This last picture is Travel'n Turtle retrieving one of her own letterboxes from the American Wildlife series that Ukusa had hidden. This one was "safe" from muggles hidden in a berry bramble!

Northern Ohio's Daffodil Trail

Trexx loved showing all the girls the beautiful yellow blooms. They all had their favorites. Trexx loved the fuzzy little yellow fluffy ones (shown below) that looked like new born chicks. Hard to believe that those are Daffodils too!

Here Trexx languishes poolside with Celery the Frog, Blue Bunny and Bumbles. This is a beautiful spot (Travel'n Turtle & Ukusa's parents home) to enjoy the valley view.

Sonoma, California is a beautiful place to visit even if you're an under-aged Boxing Buddy or Letterboxer. The vineyards are beautiful and have lots of neat hiking trails around them, so skipping the wine tasting is no problem!

Here is Laney Bug holding Boxing Buddies Blue Bunny and Bumbles. We were heading into the woods to find Mr. Piney, missing-in-action since last fall. He had fallen from his perch, but was easily found!

Trexx hits the Sonoma Wineries

Trexx sits near one of Ukusa's Wineries series boxes with letterboxer Laney Bug who's also holding Celery the Frog (light green near her chin) from Ohio too; Blue Bunny, behind Trexx's hat, and Bumbles, in her hand. This is at Bartholomew Family Winery, a beautiful spot right near hiking trails to other nifty boxes.

The Northern California hillsides were still green and all the flowers were in bloom. The grape vines were all covered in little leaves, embracing the warm, spring weather.

Next we visited Cline Cellars winery to find Candyland's Floral Frenzy series Rose letterbox. It's a beautiful stamp situated at a lovely vineyard. After the boxing buddies had a little wine we meandered through the gardens and enjoyed the flowers and the elaborate ponds with fountains.

Boxing Buddy Summit Meeting

Boxing Buddies from three continents united to discuss buddy needs. Trexx from Ohio (USA) was thrilled to meet Blue Bunny from Hong Kong (China) and introduce her to Bumbles from London (England) and Celery the Frog from Ohio (USA).

Bumbles insisted that they start the meeting with Tea, a very important ceremony in itself for England and China. Blue Bunny felt right at place with her new friends.

After a group photo the four sat down and exchanged stamps and discussed letterboxing strategies. They decided that Ohio was still too damp for letterboxing so they'd head to California for a couple weeks. Stay tuned to catch their adventures in California.

Trexx comes out for an event

Trexx pulled out of his shell long enough to get is fingers inky in a frenzied exchange. He went to the Groundhog Day event in Marion, Ohio. He was up early to see Buckeye Chuck peek out of his cage to predict Spring Is On It's Way! Woo hoo! Too bad his cousin, Puxatawnie Phil didn't agree. Unfortunately Phil is probably right.

Trexx met a lot of letterboxers and everyone was eager to say hi to him and do an exchange. Above he sits next to MomMelMeg. His most ardent fan was, Wander Woman (previously Hope AB), posing below with him.

He is eager to get out to his next event and is looking forward to the Coming Up Flowers Spring Event in Brooklyn, Ohio on March 8, 2008.

Trexx out in the snow!

Trexx, although a cold-blooded fellow, ventured out for a few local letterboxes. He is now curled up in his shell near the fireplace and refusing to move! Pictured with Laney Bug and Boxing Buddy: Bumbles in Kirtland, Ohio at The Souper Duper Letterbox and in Mentor, Ohio at the Mentor Headlands Beach Letterbox. It was 25° and very cold!

Trexx is very excited about good weather so he can get out and do more boxing (aren't we all). He did have a small mishap after being left alone with Laney Bug (3 1/2) in the back seat. He was depanted and missing his boots!

Trexx and Bumbles Go Fall Letterboxing

Trexx is having a great time enjoying the fall weather with his visiting Boxing Buddy: Bumbles. She doesn't have quite as attractive folliage and meeting a real Ohio Box Turtle in the wild (it was a girl and she had pretty eyes, Trexx noticed) was pretty neat too!

Trexx loved her intricately designed shell (his is sort of plain) and Bumbles enjoyed sneaking rides.

Bumbles enjoyed listening to Trexx, a LetterBox Turtle, explain what letterboxing was to a Box Turtle. They think that they might have convinced their new friend to try it out. The Box Turtle liked the idea of traveling more and couldn't believe Bumbles came all the way from England to visit and go letterboxing!

The Boxing Buddies were visiting Travel'n Turtle's Hitch Hiker Hostel and stopped long enough to enjoy the scenic spot, too. Bumbles got tired with all the flying and had Trexx carry her on the trip back to the car!

Trexx has a new Boxing Buddy friend, Bumbles, visiting from London, England. She has never been outside her country and wanted to see Ohio and do some letterboxing with Trexx.

First they set off to plant a few letterboxes. These boxes are special because one of them is from Bumbles owner, Candyland, in London, England and the other is from Ukusa, in Downham, England. As well as one from Trexx's owner, Travel'n Turtle. They're a mystery series so I can't tell you more here except this amazing bridge is on the trail! Long, but worth the adventure.

Next Trexx and Bumbles visited Marblehead, Ohio. This was a long drive from home, but we still managed to get there first thing in the morning and enjoy the sunrise. This sunrise picture is taken out of the sunroof as we drive onto the island. Lots of boxes to get, so we were very busy. It was a rainy day and we had to plan which boxes to get during dry spells. Still, a beautiful place and a great bunch of letterboxes.

The two letterboxing pictures here are taken at East Harbor State Park in Marblehead. It was a very diverse park with lots of neat trails. Thanks to letterboxers, we saw most of them!

Squire's Castle

Fall is finally here and the leaves are about to turn colors. It's a great time of year to get out and find some letterboxes before the cold sets in (sooner than we expect)! Here is Laney Bug with Trexx at Squire's Castle in North Chagrin Reservation in Willoughby Hills, Ohio.

Trexx (seen here with Laney Bug, 3 years old) decided to do a road trip along the "North Coast" to grab some far flung letterboxes. It was a beautiful day and Vermilion was a darling little town. You can see Lake Erie behind the boxing duo.

Next, we headed to Lorain. There is a wonderful hybrid letterbox there. I had never been to this town and was amazed at how darling it too was. I felt like I was driving up a movie set when I drove into town. And they had the cutest little light house!

Trexx hits the Cuyahoga

Camp Hi in Hiram, Ohio offers a beautiful glimpse of the Cuyahoga, up close and personal.

Trexx loved canoeing back on the Fourth of July that he had to try for another Kelmark Boxer extreme box, this time in Hiram, Ohio.

Trexx enjoyed seeing the typical sites by canoe, such as his relatives, the turtle (embarrassingly caught sun-bathing nude).

Trexx loves traveling, and enjoyed a trip to Oak Island, North Carolina very much.
Goldie, Big Frill and Trexx enjoy letterboxing and sight-seeing in Southport, North Carolina.
The marshes of Oak Island are just beautiful. We planted a box nearby here at the Oak Island Nature Center! Trexx and Big Frill helped write the clues. Goldie tried, but she kept adding an extra "u" to all the words. The English!

Trexx, Goldie, and Big Frill had an awesome evening letterboxing in Raleigh, North Carolina and even got to meet the Flory family letterboxers! It's not everyday that you feel like a letterboxing celebrity.

Children love the Boxing Buddies. Meeting me seemed to be exciting, but not as exciting as the buddy group!

Turtle and Fish hit the library to hunt down an ellusive librarybook. Lot's of fun and the children in the kid's section loved to see this romantic couple necking, I mean, stamping in, together!

Trexx has the honor of meeting the Wandering Bs (Little B and the B Who-Must-Not-Be-Named shown here). They just got in from Hong Kong and stopped to show a letterboxing turtle some affection!

Trexx's boxing buddy friend, Kermit the Hermit Crab will be staying with them for awhile and enjoying letterboxing Wandering B style. Maybe the B Who-Must-Not-Be-Named will be named by the time Kermit gets home! :o)

Goldie and Trexx say goodbye at the Cleveland International airport to Kermit the Hermit Crab. He's jetting off for adventure after a short stay in the Cleveland area.

Trexx goes canoing

Trexx takes Goldie, his Yorkshire girlfriend, Canoing in the Cleveland Metroparks for the Fourth of July (she didn't get the point being English). What a fine day to head to Hinckley Reservation and try to find Kelmark Box #2 - Harold & the Kayak box.

Alas, they couldn't get the canoe past one of the logs and will have to come back on foot. Really ironic since they both are aquatic animals and shouldn't even be in a canoe!

Hikers kept looking at us oddly. You'd think they've never seen an interbuddy relationship! Sure, my kind usually eats her kind, that's part of the excitement for us! She never knows if I might take a nibble.

Trexx finally remembered a camera for his lastest boxing. This is Trexx after he found Woodland Bunny in Westlake, Ohio (don't worry his letterboxing caretaker's box here) by Travel'n Turtle.

Had to do some maintenance and Trexx needed to see if he could find a box on his own!

Trexx goes boxing

Trexx finally gets to get his boots dirty! He enjoyed posing with a new letterbox in the wild in Northern Ohio and is packing as we speak for Northern California. He has plans to go wine tasting and finding some boxes there.

Right now he is hunting for a nice hiking stick. He needs a 12" one to help him stay upright on the trails.

If you see Travel'n Turtle on the trail ask to see Trexx, he has a logbook and a stamp to himself! Trexx is a mystery!
